All I wanted was an iPod shuffle (well, 2 actually)…

Sad, I’m sad this morning…
My dear friend and hardmac mate kurisu went over to Ginza’s Apple store to try and snatch a couple of iPods shuffle (iPod shuffles? iPods shuffles?) for me on Saturday. And came back empty handed… “we’ll get some tomorrow” is all he was told.
Braving the cold and the withdrawal symptoms due to a Japan-wide shortage of Red-bull, he went there again on Sunday… only to learn that the store had got only 150 512Mb shuffles (hmm, not even mentionning 0-as-in-zero 1Gb units) and that they were all GONE! And probably now on ebay.co.jp for $200…
Ahhh, I told you it was a sad day…

I heard the other stores in Japan got a bit luckier with the numbers, but that has yet to be verified… Sad thing in Ginza was the poor unit of Mac mini left on the ground floor was glued on a podium in the middle of the room… with the super loud music playing and lots of girls saying how “kawaii” the Mac mini was… they thought I was crazy when I put my ear on the mini to judge the noise level of the little dude…

btw, Engadget did a little investigation on the iPod shuffle’s plural form matter…

apparently it’s iPod shuffles but they don’t seem very confident even at Apple PR

it’s a random spelling… just add a random number of “s” and press SHUFFLE

Anyway, you had one of the first PSP 2 in the world, “they” won’t allow the same guy to have one of the first iPod shuffle… hear the black copters ?

I’m sad because I can’t afford a shuffle, let alone a mac mini.
