According to MacWorld UK, you’ll soon be able to buy iPods at the local コンビニ, namely 7-eleven, if you live in Japan.
However, you’ll have to order 2 to 3 days in advance, so no luck on our dream of picking up a nano with our bento for the night, a 6-pack of Asahi and our favorite pack of Pocky.

saw some flyers about that at the 7-eleven next to my office building… and two new kinds of pocky : “cereal crunch” and some new fancy pocky “decorer”.
though i doubt this kind of offer will have any success in Tokyo, Nagoya or Osaka… but it sure might be great for people living in remote areas of Japan.
