Hanami 2005
by kurisu
As promised, and as a gift to you, our loyal 10 readers, here are 2 shots of this year’s sakura in Tokyo. For those not in the know, “sakura” (さくら) means cherry blossom, and “hanami” (はなみ / 花見) means litteraly “watching flowers” which is a big event thoughout Japan, and is also something that truly defines the Japanese society.
The first shot was taken a few hours ago from my balcony, and the second shot was taken yesterday, Saturday, April 9th, in Tamagawa, near the river of the same name. Taken with my good old Canon IXY Digital 400, and served to you via iPhoto.
This period always gets me all emotional ya know…
