iPhone 2.0 to sport new calculator?

So, according to Appleinsider, the 2.0 software update for the iPhone will bring, amongst other things, a new calculator UI:

I kinda like the current calculator but there might be two reasons for the new look:
1) Apple decided that the small round keys where sort of easy to miss, and alos where a clear waste of screen real estate, or
2) Apple got in trouble for clearly copying the iPhone’s original calculator look from an old classic Braun calculator, as can be seen below.
As I said, I like the old UI, but the new one clearly is better in terms of usability. Ah well, it’s not a major change for a 2.0 update, but it’s still nice to see Apple polishing every nook and crannies in their software.
