The Joy of Tech takes on iPhone 3G
by moose
As always, the JoT is spot on about the various expectations for a 3G iPhone.
All I can say is I have been using an iPhone for a few month, and I don’t really miss 3G. I had a 3G SOny Ericsson phone before, and I didn’t even use web and email because 1) the applications sucked like hell and 2) the data rates were outrageous. And yes, browsing the web is a tad slow on EDGE, but it’s not that bad, and you have access ANYWHERE, from the bottom of an underground tube station to the top of the Aiguille du midi (3802m). PLus the battery life is quite good.
So, will I change my iPhone for a 3G model? Hell no! Unless the new model acts also as a tricorder, then maybe…
