The shame: public BSODs

by moose

We are all (too) familiar with the infamous BSOD, Windows’ Blue Screen Of Death. We have seen it, experienced it on our PCs, it made us cry…

And we are also familiar with public shame, like farting in public, having your 5 year old telling you out loud how ugly the lady standing 5 feet away is, or shouting out something really stupid at your pal to be heard above the noise in a party, right when the music stops.

Imagine what happens when you mix both, as is the case when BSODs happen in the wild: ATMs, airport terminal screens, service stations, video displays etc. The list goes on forever.

I’ve done a bit of reseach on the Web and found a gazillion pictures of GIANT public BSODs, and I’m including some after the break for your pleasure.

There’s something quite amazing with them, it’s how long they can stay up there. Like, try doing a search for BSOD on flickr, and you’ll find dozens of occurences of the same public giant BSOD, taken by different people at different times, even hours appart! When this happens on a 20 foot wide mural display, you have to wonder who is in charge.

If you have great giant public BSOD shots, send them in and I’ll add them to the gallery. moose@macbidouille.com

Oh, btw, YOU too can be a public shame. Get your own BSOD T-shirt now!

BSOD never looked so good.

They’re on sale at Errorwear and, for the M$ fanboys, they also have OSX’s Kernel Panic tees…
