Valentine Zune coming erhm later…

Microsoft says “sorry” with free Valentine’s Zune 80 players:
“Microsoft’s special Valentine’s Day edition of the Zune (Red Zune 80) is apparently more popular than the company expected. The Zune Originals creation that was announced just three weeks ago has already been through one announced product delay, but now it looks like Valentine’s Day will come and go with most customers feeling unrequited love.”

So my guess is this: the Zune is selling so poorly that, when there was a sudden surge of a couple hundred units in demand, they had to turn the whole factory back on, call back the employees (involving sending an helicopter to fetch that manager who’s been fishing salmon in the Catskills for the past 12 month) and refresh them on how they’re supposed to make those devices.
Oh! Wait! Send them back home, it’s mid-March already.
